Today is great Grandma Niederhauser's 80th birthday. Last night we had a party for her and I was asked to make her a cake.
I took this as an opportunity to try out a few new techniques. Not all of them were a success.
First, the bottom layer is supposed to have lots of horizontal folds like a sash was wrapped around it. Hmmmm.
Second, the top layer is supposed to look like lace. Hmmmmm.
Third, the flower on the front is supposed to look ruffley. Yea!!!
1 out of 3. Better than a sharp stick in the eye.
