Winter White and Gold Wedding Cake with MR & MRS Cake Topper

I don't know what it is with brides and Christmas weddings.  It sure is popular.

 

Well, I certainly don't mind having work in my otherwise slow season, but wedding cakes are the most stressful.  And having them due 4 days before Christmas is no help to my nerves.

 

 

 

 

No matter, it's over now.  But it did take a week for me to post anything about it.  Give me a break...it's been a busy week.   :)

White Wedding Cake in Buttercream and Fresh Flowers

 I love my new cake stand!!!

This cake was done as a sample for a wedding cake.  You may notice that cake in the above picture is slightly different from the cake in the picture below.

They are in fact the same cake.  The client just wanted to see two different frosting styles.  The first was a rough frost.  The second is a rugged linear frost.

I love both styles.  I really like the trend right now (not something I usually say) of the rustic wedding cakes.  They are not as polished, but every bit as beautiful.

Chocolate Polka Dot Cake

Holy Crap.  I think I just made the cutest cake ever.

If you know me at all, you know that I just LOVE polka dots.  

They are the theme of my whole kitchen.

A few years ago a saw this technique done on a cake and had to track down the lady who did it and pick her brain to find out how she did it.  It has taken me forever to get around to it, but you can bet I will be using this method again...and again...and again.
